Five months after his appointment as Tunisia’s head coach, Sabri Lamouchi has decided to revamp the national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Franco-Tunisian coach has dropped several key players from the Eagles of Carthage, notably Yassine Meriah (32, 95 caps), Seiffeddine Jaziri (33, 44 caps) and former captain Ferjani Sassi (34, 101 caps). The young striker Louey Ben Farhat, who plays for Karlsruhe and holds dual nationality, has turned down the Tunisian call-up, which has clearly annoyed Lamouchi. Tunisia qualified for the 2026 World Cup in September by beating Equatorial Guinea (1-0). This will be the country’s seventh appearance in a World Cup and its third consecutive one following 2018 and 2022.
